The Catskills region in New York has always been a magnet for urbanites looking for a serene respite from the hustle and bustle of city life. The region’s charming historic towns, vibrant cultural scene, and jaw-droppingly beautiful landscapes have made it a year-round vacation destination. As a result, the area has seen a surge in new hotel openings. From trendy boutique inns to sprawling luxury resorts, travelers have plenty of accommodation options. And now, a new glamping spot will allow visitors to take in the gorgeous scenery and reconnect with nature without compromising on resort-style amenities.

Autocamp, the award-winning hospitality brand known for its trendy camps in some of the country’s most popular national parks, just expanded its East Coast presence with the June 14 opening of its second location in West Saugerties, New York. Boasting 37 acres, Autocamp Catskills features 65 Airstreams trailers, 10 cabins, and 10 “BaseCamps” that include an Airstream and a luxury tent — all equipped with HVAC systems, hot tubs, and plunge pools. Staying true to the company’s philosophy of “great design meets the great outdoors,” the accommodations incorporate eclectic, vintage-inspired décor such as Warp & Weft rugs and bold artwork by local artists.

At the heart of the property is the Clubhouse, a multi-use social space for events (such as music performances and happy hours) also housing the reception area, indoor fire pit, a lounge, and a bar. The Clubhouse menu will feature sandwiches, wraps, and pizzas from Neversink General Store, as well as baked goods, bread, and coffee. The modern barn-inspired structure features exposed framing and beams that add a rustic vibe in sync with the area’s traditional architecture. The building opens to a spacious landscaped area where guests can mingle and relax.

“For the Clubhouse, we set out to create an eclectic gathering place with a hip, modern, choose-your-own-adventure vibe,” said Andrew Kline, design director at Workshop/APD, the company behind Autocamp’s architecture and design. “The design supports a wide range of interests and ultimately creates connectivity with the outdoors, with fellow travelers, and the community for a truly local, unforgettable experience.”

Guests will also have access to complimentary bikes to explore the region, in addition to the many trails and recreational opportunities that this scenic area offers. Off-site activities include mindfulness and forest bathing experiences, rock and ice climbing, snowshoeing, and fly-fishing. Nightly rates at Autocamp Catskills start at $129, and you can book your stay here.
