MARQUETTE — Northern Center for Lifelong Learning is offering an opportunity to spend the evening on the Escanaba River by Cornell to learn beginning fly-fishing.

Superior Outfitters provide all equipment unless the participant would like to her/his own. The group will be learning about fly casting, beginning information on reading rivers, using flies to catch various species of fish, how to set up a rod, and many more things.

Bring questions and Nick Simon will be both willing and able to answer them all. This is an opportunity to have the time of your life learning a new lifelong skill in the out-of-doors. Bring insect repellant. Directions to the site will be emailed to participants prior to the event if they select to drive independently.

This workshop is from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday, June 23 on the Escanaba River by Cornell. Meet at Tadych’s Marketplace parking lot for car pooling. The cost is $3 for each NCLL member and $10 for non-members. The additional project cost is $10 for supplies paid to Nick Simon.

A Michigan fishing license is required. For more information, contact: Ginger Bollero-Petry, 906-228-8051, ginger8051@aol.com or Darlene Arseneau, 906-486-9861, jdp7955@gmail.com.
