STEUBEN, NY/CARY, NC — Lewis S. Gage, 76, of Cary, NC, and formerly of Steuben, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 20, 2021, at his home.

He was born on January 3, 1945, in Middletown, CT, the son of Lewis Sr. and Josephine (Lombardo) Gage and graduated from Middletown Central Schools. Lewis was the owner and operator of Gage Family Farms in Vernon, NY and then became a feed salesman for Browns Feed before retiring in 2010.

Lewis was an avid golfer and a former member of Eagle Hill Golf Course in Utica. He loved to travel to play golf or to just hang out with his farm buddies. Lewis loved fly fishing in Maine. He took great pride in his flower gardens. Lewis also owned and operated a Christmas tree farm in Wadhams, NY.

Surviving are his sons, Brian (Patty) Gage, Cary, NC, Richard (Michelle) Gage, Santa Fe, TX and David Gage, Sherrill, NY; grandchildren, Jennifer (Steven) Cordileone, Karen (Jacob) Lee and Ryan Gage; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Andrew, Matthew and Kate; sister-in-law, Sandy Gage; and nephew, Jason Gage. He was predeceased by his brother, Dennis Gage.

Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. at Dimbleby Funeral Homes, Inc., 7944 Steuben St., Holland Patent. Interment will follow in Westernville Cemetery.
