Project SEED accepting donations to feed local children
New Kensington-Arnold Project SEED volunteers will have the first packing day of the school year at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Alle-Kiski Center for Active Adults, 1039 Third Ave.
Program co-founder Joanne Cecchi estimates that Project SEED will feed approximately 200 children each week. This will be the ninth year the Project SEED will provide weekend food bags for children in need.

West Deer race to raise funds for breast cancer awareness
West Deer Parks and Recreation Committee will sponsor a Breast Cancer Awareness 1-mile walk and 5K run Oct. 16 in Bairdford Park as part of the township’s fall festival.
The event will begin at 10:30 a.m. and will benefit Adagio Health. Registration is $10 and there are different race classes. Paid registration deadline is Sept. 30. For information and a registration form, visit westdeertownship.com.
Outdoor job fair planned in Armstrong County
Armstrong County Pa. CareerLink will host an outdoor job fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the CareerLink office, 11931 Route 85, suite E, Indian Hills Complex, Rayburn Township, rain or shine.
