TOWN Magazine’s July 2021 issue

Anyone else freaking out that we are already in July?

It’s not too late to start planning your summer adventures. Our friends at TOWN Magazine recently shared in their new issue6 Southeastern Adventures for the Summer. So, if you still need some inspo for your summer activities, here are TOWN’s recs:

Biking the Virginia Creeper Trail

Hike or bike the trail, plus TOWN recommends staying at the Martha Washington Inn and Spa, and eating at The Tavern or 128 Pecan.

Elk Watching in the Cataloochee Valley

After spending all day quietly and carefully looking for Elk to snap photos of, TOWN highlights trying a bite at Patio Bistro, a brew at Frog Level Brewery, staying at Oak Hill on Love Lane for a cozy bed + breakfast experience, and doing a little shopping at Pleasant Places.

Exploring Linville Caverns

We’ve already bookmarked this one for ourselves. Explore these North Carolina caverns and everything else the area has to offer, including wading or fishing in the on-property creek, swimming in their open-to-the-public pool, and hiking Linville Falls. TOWN’s insider tip? Ask your tavern tour guide about the ghost stories.

Floating the French Broad River

Nothing says summer like floating down the river. In true Asheville fashion, be sure to check out some breweries after your float, like Wedge Brewing Company or New Belgium Brewing, and grab a slice of ‘za at All Souls Pizza

Fly Fishing on the Chattooga River

This one’s pretty fly. Even if fishing isn’t necessarily your jam, TOWN also recommends exploring Stumphouse Tunnel and some “Watery Fun” in Oconee County.

Scuba Diving in Wilmington, NC

Be sure to dive right into this one. You might not think “North Carolina” when you hear “scuba diving,” but according to TOWN, these dives are “undiscovered gems.”
